1. To enhance women leaders skills and knowledge to increase the number and quality of women participating in politics.

2. To strengthen the capacity of elected special interest group representatives to function effectively in legislative bodies.

3. To conduct civic education for the masses to increase understanding and appreciation of women’s role and participation in politics.

WDMP focus

The women and Decision Making programme will focus on:


1. Enhancing skills and knowledge of women leaders with the aim of increasing the number and quality of women participating in politics.

2. Strengthening the capacity of elected SIG representatives to function effectively in legislative bodies. Emphasis will be laid on increasing the ability of women politicians to analyze proposed legislation, budgets and existing policies, including gender analysis of policies and programmes.

3. Conducting civic education with the aim of enabling the masses to realize that women’s participation in politics is a crucial component for democracy and to interrogate the issues of patriarchy, negative cultural practices, poverty which have had a negative impact on women’s participation in politics.
